DanceSport & Hip Hop Barangay Competition Circuit

Complementary to the year-round free workshop, this competition circuit covers all 80 barangays of Cebu City where Juvenile (6-11 yrs. old), Junior (12-15 yrs. old) and Youth (16-18 yrs. old) athletes compete with their parents and friends. C and D market segment.

24 Sports Complexes serve as competition venues in the following barangays: (urban barangays) Tejero, Mabolo, Banilad, Camputhaw, Pahina Central, Labangon, Punta Princessa, Mambaling, Suba, Guadalupe, Basak San Nicolas, Poblacion Pardo, Sambag II, Cogon Ramos, San Roque, (mountain barangays) Sudon II, Babag, Busay, Talamban, Guba, Pit-os, Paril, Tap-tap, Binaliw.

Each venue accommodates a cluster of two to five barangays each. Urban barangay Tejero had Tinago, Lorega and Carreta. Mabolo had Hipodromo, Kasambagan and Barrio Luz. Banilad had Apas. Camputhaw had Capitol Site and Lahug. Pahina Central had Pahina San Nicolas, San Nicolas Proper and Kalubihan. Labangon had Tisa and Calamba. Punta Princessa had Buhisan, Toong and Pamutan. Mambaling had Duljo-Fatima. Suba had Pasil, Sawang and Ermita. Guadalupe had Kalunasan and Sapang Dako. Basak San Nicolas had Basak Pardo and Quiot. Poblacion Pardo had Inayawan, Kinasang-an, Bulacao and Cogon-Pardo. Sambag II had Sambag I. Cogon Ramos had Santa Cruz, San Antonio, Zapatera, Kamagayan. San Roque had Pari-an, Santo Niño, Day-as and T. Padilla.

In the mountain barangays Sudon II had Sudlon I and Sinsin. Babag had Bonbon and Pung-ol Sibugay and Buot-Taup. Busay had Malubog. Talamban had Budlaan. Guba had Sirao. Pit-os had San Jose, Bacayan and Pulang-Bato. Paril had Cambinocot and Lusaran. Tap-tap had Adlaon, Tabunan and Tagba-o. Binaliw had Agsungot and Mabini.

USA Competition Tour & Roadshow

The first USA Competition Tour & Roadshow in 2006 brought honor to Cebu and the Philippines with 67 golds in three major competitions in three cities – San Francisco, Manhattan and Las Vegas.

This year the team hopes to gain more honor for the Philippines and further mark our place in the map. Strengthened ties with Filipino Americans there, is a goal along with showcasing Filipino talent to the American audience. The competition tour also promotes Cebu and the Philippines as a tourist destination particularly for the 4th DanceSport sa Sugbu & 3rd Cebu IDSF Open.

DanceSport sa Sugbu & Cebu IDSF Open

This competition gathers athletes worldwide, promoting local, national and international tourism, and encouraging cultural exchange of various countries. It’s the ultimate “sports tourism” project aimed at marking Cebu as the “DanceSport Capital of Asia” and Cebu IDSF Open as the “Friendliest Competition in the World”.

It gathers hundreds of juvenile, junior, youth, adult and senior athletes from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao from cities like Pampanga, Metro Manila, Pasig City, Cebu City, Mandaue City, Minglanilla, Talisay City, Tacurong City, Sultan Kudarat, Bacolod City, Cadiz City, Cotabato City, Sibulan, Negros Oriental, Gen. Santos City, Dumaguete City, Davao City, Zamboanga City, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, Tangub City, Misamis Occidental and Tagbilaran City Bohol.

Represented are at least sixteen countries like the USA, England, Germany, Russia, Finland, Slovenia, New Zealand, Australia, China, HongKong, Macau, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines.

The audience includes barangay residents, students, ballroom enthusiasts, dance teachers and guests, aspiring DanceSport competitors and supporters. Covers the entire market range from Upper A to B, C and D. Participants and audience are both male and female from all age groups child, youth, adult and senior.
