Team Philippines DanceSport Team Cebu City (DTCC) dazzled the world with its dancesport prowess, sweeping gold and silver medal at the prestigious Blackpool Dance Festival 2023 held in the Empress Ballroom at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool, England, United Kingdom on May 21, 2023.
Anselmo Estillore and DanceSport Team Cebu City’s Chairman, Ms. Eleanor Hayco won 1st Place (Gold Medal) in the Teacher-Student 5 Dance Latin Open Championship Category and Elmer Fernando Jr. and Mila Hanae Mori won the 2nd Place (Silver Medal) in the Teacher-Student Ballroom Open Championship Category. DanceSport Team Cebu City’s Head Coach Mr. Crisaldo “Loloi” Rendon couldn’t be prouder of the achievements they have made.
DTCC, you made Cebu and the Philippines proud! You made a glorious achievement in Dancesport, inspiring future generations of dancers. What a fantastic achievement, you are a legend!

What makes Blackpool Dance Festival prestigious?
The Blackpool Dance Festival is the world’s first and most famous annual ballroom dance competition in the Empress Ballroom at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool, England since 1920. It attracts nearly 3,000 competitors from over 60 countries and covers various styles of dancing, such as ballroom, Latin American, American smooth, and sequence dancing. The festival was interrupted by the Second World War and resumed in 1946. It has since expanded to include more categories and events and even hosts a festival in China. The Blackpool Dance Festival is regarded as the most prestigious and influential dance festival in the world.
